All about New World, the new Amazon MMO! (Massively Multiplayer Online)

New World sets itself apart from other fantasy MMOs for several reasons - it's set on Earth and the player characters are all human, but it goes even further. So what are Territory Battles?

New World is an island divided into several territories with colonies and forts.

• Settlements are where the crafting stations and player lodgings are located.
• Forts are what companies must capture to gain control of a territory.
• A company that controls a territory can set its tax rate and organize public projects, such as improving the territory's fort or colony. A company that wants to stay popular will work to improve the Colony's crafting stations so that players can craft better gear. She will also want to improve the fort's defenses.
• If another company thinks it should be in charge of a territory, it can declare war, and a battle will be scheduled according to the defenders' preference (so you can't attack them when they're all asleep).
• Both companies will recruit armies of 50 men (not all of them have to be company members) to fight for them. During the battle, the attackers will have to capture control points around the fort, break down the gates and capture a central point.
